I am originally from the south (Georgia to be exact), but moved to the midwest almost 10 years ago (YOWZA!) for my job. Although there are things I miss about "home," I really do love my friends, job, etc. in KC. I have loved fashion, decorating, and just making things look nice for as long as I can remember. My mom likes to tell a story about how, when I was 2, I told her that an outfit she liked for me was "babyish". Yes, I was a very sophisticated (and opinionated) little girl!

Shopping is one of my favorite things to do, and getting a bargain makes me more excited than I can put into words! I have been reading fashion and lifestyle blogs for quite some time now, but finally got the nerve to start one myself. It still scares me to put myself, and my ideas out there, but with the support of people that love me, I decided to push all of that aside, and do something I'm passionate about.

So, where did the name "Sequins and Scallops" come from? I love all things girlie, and these two just epitomize that in my mind! I love anything sequined (well, unless it looks cheap), and a scalloped edge/hem, just makes anything a little more feminine and interesting!

I travel a lot for my job, so you will likely see many hotel room photos here. It also makes it challenging to always dress fashionably (carry-ons are not that big for layers, accessiories, shoes, etc), and it is key to dress comfortable for a full day of travel and running through airports to catch your flights. I do love a challenge though, and hopefully this will encourage me to be more creative and not get into a travel style rut!
